Most Maldives holidays are spent between your villa, the beach and the restaurant, so packing light makes sense. Here is what we suggest.
Essentials
- Lightweight cotton and linen clothing
- Two or three swimsuits, as they take time to dry in humid air
- Reef-safe sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat
- A light layer for air-conditioned rooms and evening boat rides
Worth bringing
- Your own snorkel mask if you prefer a good fit
- A waterproof phone pouch for boat trips
- Basic medication, as resort shops can be expensive
Leave at home
Heavy shoes, formal wear and too many outfits. Most resorts are relaxed, and sandals are welcome almost everywhere.
Resort dress codes vary, so we always share any specific guidance with your travel documents.
